That's fine. Some people don't eat anything green. People are less apt to argue. But when somebody says they don't eat meat, there is a big to do about it.
Having spent some Time in Farm Country, I agree re: "Cows" ... Their Big Brown Eyes are GORGEOUS and I love their beautful deep Voices ... (But I DO also enjoy eating them ... )

I happen to love cows, to me they are among the most beautiful animals on the planet, but I dont eat them. meat is meat
I completely respect vegiterians and vegans. I wouldn't argue with that choice. More power to all of you. You probably have a much healthier diet anyway.
Personally, I just love a good steak waaaayyyy too much :).
Our need to learn should always outweigh our need to be right

As It is Written, "Matters of Taste are not subject to Debate ... "
Matters of cruelty and/or suffering are subject to debate, though.
For all the talk of "instinct" and the "food chain" and such, what it comes down to is that humans have a choice in the matter and can choose not to be cruel, or use cruel practices that cause suffering...or they can choose not to.
The only reason humans are at the "top" of the food chain is their brains, not their adapted brawn, and just as those brains can lead them to choose cruelty, those same brains can lead them to choose the opposite.
There is no reason to berate vegetarians or vegans the way it is self-righteously done on this board. I think Cesmon's answer is the best one on this thread!

Actually, I would have to say the animal rights/vegan folks are the ones usually doing the berating and preaching -- often laced with misanthrophy and vicious characterizations of those who disagree.
The constant portrayal of hunters as pathological ego-maniacs, and ranchers as egotistical asses who care only about money are just a couple examples of that.

Is that violins I'm hearing???
If there was any truth with such one sided statements, I'd say get a lawyer. As it is, I'll say, cry me a river.
The defensiveness and aggression of some meat eaters, and of hunters and gun lovers on this board are the most striking characteristics of these threads. There's nothing offensive about this thread. Such aggressive defensiveness can be a sign of internal feelings of guilt.
