Here'swhat I would like to know.


How far away was he when he was shot?


How many shots were fired; how many struck the victim.?


Where was the victim hit? In front or in back.


Was he shot while running away?


Was Zimmerman standing when he fired or did he shoot while on the ground.


If Z was standing and shot the kid while he was running away, stand your ground doesn't apply.




According to what I've seen/read so far, it was a single gunshot wound to the chest, at close to point-blank range. 


If that is true, it might bolster Zimmerman's claim that he fired the shot while he was down, and Martin was pummeling the crap out of him. Which, in turn, would make it a case of self-defense.


As the investigation progresses, we'll see what bears out as fact.


On a side note, I think this makes the case for carrying mace/pepper spray instead of a firearm. There aren't the implications of killing another human being.

Zimmerman and his friend make a mockery of the concept of "self defense".  Zimmerman had no authority to go after a kid with skittles and a canned drink, except for the hoodie and the fact that Zimmerman suspected him of being bad.     Start a fight, claim self defense, get to kill somebody with impunity.  That doesn't even make sense.
