"...But in own his version of events, as outlined in the Sentinel report, Zimmerman had given up the chase and was walking back to his sport utility vehicle when Martin approached him from behind.
The two exchanged words before Martin punched the burly Zimmerman in the nose, sending him reeling to the ground. The teenager then began pummeling him and slammed his head into the sidewalk several times, the newspaper said.
At least one witness told police he saw Martin on top of Zimmerman who was calling for help, the newspaper said. It noted, however, that other witnesses had disputed who the cries were coming from.
ABC News quoted a police source as saying that Zimmerman, in a written statement, claimed that Martin also tried to take his gun before the shot was fired."

Perhaps.
But you can permanently injure, disable or kill somebody by slamming their head into the pavement just as surely as you can by shooting them.
So, in that case, the ball was back in Zimmerman's court.
No ... Apparently ZIMMERMAN admits to being The INITIAL Aggressor, in which Case the KID was acting in Self-Defense, albeit WITHOUT use of a FireArm ...
Had Zimmerman just STAYED AWAY from the Kid, as instructed by the 911 Official, NO Problem would have occured ...

One moment.....according to reports, Zimmerman says he attempted to follow the kid but lost him and was returning to his vehicle when he was accosted by Martin from behind.....
Is this the case, who knows? People have made up their minds already though and it is going to be practically impossible to have a fair trial. Fair trials are a deserved item, are they not?

Following somebody is one thing.
Confronting somebody -- after following them back -- punching them in the nose hard enough to knock them off their feet and then slamming their head into a hard surface is something else entirely.
In that case, "self defense" on the kid's part would be pretty thin soup.
It seems you are hell-bent in seeing this only one way.
