A new law the Oklahoma legislature is trying to pass would make my birth control illegal. You'll pardon me if I don't give a flying fart if some old man can't get it up any more.
Dark Energy. It can be found in the observable Universe. Found in ratios of 75% more than any other substance. Dark Energy. It can be found in religious extremists, in cheerleaders. To come to the conclusion that Dark signifies mean and malevolent would define 75% of the Universe as an evil force. Alternatively, to think that some cheerleaders don't have razors in their snatch is to be foolishly unarmed.

Maybe so. But if this were the case, you'd think the insurance companies would cover contraceptives as a prudent business decision without the government needing to mandate it. These guys are nothing if not lousy with accountants and financial analysts. |

Have you ever known any company to cover anything without being forced to? Look back at the Civil Rights movement. Adding blacks into the mix doubles the customer base. But try telling the companies that. They had to be forced into it.

Give up, then. Or read what I actually wrote before you start pontificating. I'm not questioning whether insurance ought to cover contraceptives. I'm questioning the inconsistency in being forced to cover 100% of the cost here, when every other drug out there requires a co-pay. People out there who need heart medications or chemo simply to stay alive have to pay something for those meds; in some case, huge amounts. |

The Blunt Amendment, which would have overthrown the requirement that insurance companies cover the cost of contraception for women even with Obama's compromise was voted on in the Senate today, and only one Republican voted against it -- Olympia Snow. Even Susan Collins voted for it. Limbaugh said he'd pay every woman student at Georgetown for as many aspirin as they want to put between their knees. I think he should be fired, such slander goes beyond first amendment rights. But since that won't happen, I hope his sponsors pull their support from his radio show. Perhaps a boycott of those sponsors will pick up steam, now. I really hope Ms Fluke sues him. |

A tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion. Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler whom they consider god-fearing and pious. On the other hand, they do less easily move against him, believing that he has the gods on his side. Aristotle

I'm not sure which is more of a dog & pony show. Warren Buffet's poor, hardscrabble $200,000 a year secretary, with two houses , or the downtrodden dejour $ 50,000 a year Georgetown Law student so poor she must choose between cat food or sex? It is so obvious that only the taxpayers can help them now.
