Why should we give a shit whenever some celebrity dies.

Probably because they're widely known by a lot of people and are well liked because of their talent or skill....or because of the movies and television shows(that we liked) that we associate them with?

I also thoroughly enjoyed their music and their television show growing up in the 60s.

I think that it's pretty sad and pretty unbelievable that there are so many healthy, powerful, and healing foods that I have learned about from watching "The Doctor Oz Show"...but unfortunately, most Americans from their childhood on up, have only learned how to eat what is essentially equivalent to 'garbage'...and are basically in a 'slumber' when it comes to not having a clue as to what that kind of food is doing to their bodies and to their health. It's really sad.

"Hmmm. So you're saying that for Jesus' followers(throughout the centuries) to truly live a 'godly' life, they had to believe that the end of the world was just around the corner?"

~Ed2(See post #53)

"Although, I think that I'll change that to: Also...I liked the way that you dodged what I had said about being 'concerned that the Bible had to use subterfuge as a means to an end' in my post #137."

"It's utterly beyond belief, that the wealthiest country in the history of the world, fails to care for all it's people."

~Dr. Patrick Dowling, MD(From The Doctor Oz Show, which aired on 11/23/11.)

"If I could prescribe any drug on the planet, it would be food [be]cause it works better, faster, and cheaper than any medication. Food is the most powerful medicine we have...to treat chronic disease like diabetes."

~Dr. Mark Hyman, MD(From The Doctor Oz Show, which aired on 01/13/12. Also, go to www.doctoroz.com for more information.)

We all enjoyed the Monkees, however Davy Jones lived a long and successful life; the 19 year old kid who never had a family or career and died for no reason in Iraq is a different story.

The government likes to sugar coat it and say they died serving their country - bullsht. The WWII vets died serving their country for a just cause, the others are murder victims.

That's a pretty bizarre rationalization. One can morn for all of those people. Morning for Jones does not take away anything from morning the others.

That has nothing what so ever to do with Jones. Please try to stay on topic.

Unlike the Viet Nam War, where the soldiers got no welcome when they returned home, during this long, unnecessary war, everyone has given their support to the soldiers. I was lucky--my first cousin's son made it through his tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.

But Davy Jones had nothing to do with sending any American soldiers any place. He was a part of my life growing up and was a talented performer on TV, Broadway and performed most of his life. I found  an interview he, Peter Tork, and Mickey Dolenz did in England, Between them they had 10 daughters. Davy gave full credit to his ex-wives for how well his daughters turned out. He was the one who was off traveling, performing and maing money while his ex-wives did all the hard parts and hard work raising them.

If you've just lost someone, I'm sorry for you. but being angry because Davy Jones lived to be 67 before dying from a heart attack isn't the same thing.

However, we do agree on Bush the Lesser.

'When I want your opinion, I'll give it to you."
these are both from my father.
