Hello to all. I'll be 'visiting' regularly to moderate as may be necessary. When I'm acting as host, I sign off as 'rangerken, beliefnet community host'. When I'm participating in a discussion, I sign off as 'Ken', not to be confused with the other 'Ken' whose nick nd logo are different from mine..

Feel free to e-mai me with any questions or problems.

Thank you all for the welcome.

Please keep in mind that the host is jcarlinbn.  You hope you will never see a post signed by jcarlinbn.

You will note that a member sharing the redwood ring avatar who signs his posts J'Carlin is an entirely different member who tends to like "Spirited Discussion."  The gooddogma distinction is relevant here.

J'Carlin has no special privileges. Complaints to either host or beliefnetstaff are proper.

Community Host

thanx J'C for hosting the host.

A reminder to all. Neither J'Carlin nor member Ken, nor Rangerken posting as ken are moderators on this board.  One of the functions of a board host is to stimulate discussion, and perhaps even controversy.  Rangerken and jcarlinbn use separate signatures to differentiate that function.   Another function of a host is to insure the guidelines for the board are followed and that the Rules of Conduct to which all subscribe as a condition of membership in beliefnet are complied with or at least waved at.  Although the site is owned by Fox News maintaining a "Fair and Balanced" board is not one of the functions most hosts worry about.  Nor, I am sure is Fox News.  Controversy sells ads, and the ads pay for our fun.

Hi
Just having a playful dig at Ken. I had no idea it would escalate into an international incident.LoL

Stipulated.  But the "international incident" has been brewing for a while on many threads.  You just provided the excuse to return fire.  Note, I almost deleted the quote and all discussion thereof and just posted the comment without it.  Some discussions of moderating are less playful.
