I suppose I should start Gosh, having been around basically as long as the show, it's hard to boil it down to a single lesson or memory. Sesame Street is definitely a backdrop for my whole young life (and now my life as a mom). I'd say the combination of learning and music has been pretty powerful for me. The idea that lessons can be taught while singing, dancing and generally being silly has followed me through my life and impacted the way I approach many things. |

Some of those songs are really stuck in my head... and thats not a bad thing
I had a lot of trouble with learning to count.. and the repition from their counting songs, helped... plus sometimes it did skip counting, and that helped me with math. |

I learned a little Spanish. I learned that there are lots of types of people. I learned that just because someone's called a monster doesn't mean they're all mean.

I love Ernie's laugh.
Still do. He made being silly okay. Irene.

I learned about death. I learned that just helping someone is more important than giving them stuff (The Alligator King and His Seven Sons). I learned to appreciate all jobs, no matter how bad (thanks, Grover)! And as I get older, Oscar's worldview looks better and better :D

The Grover "the monster at the end of this book" taught me a lot about fears. |
