Thanks for posting this.  I read this morning that she was near death and that Ryan O'Neal had closed down her website.  Then, about an hour later, I read that she had died.

She's the first of the original Charlie's Angels to pass on (John Forsythe has long since gone to glory :-)  I watched the show when it was on in the 70s.  I still say she had the greatest shag hairstyle ever :-)

She did more serious work in The Burning Bed (which I've not seen); I gather it was a turning point in her career.  I say "more serious," but I'm still in two minds (after all these years) as to whether Charlie's Angels was liberating or retro.

< sigh > First McMahon, and now Fawcett.  My mother points out that celebs die in threes, so I guess I'm waiting for the third shoe to drop :-(

Charlie's Angels was retro.

And that red bathing suit poster was EVERYWHERE!

The Burning Bed was an eye-opener as Fawcett really proved she had authentic acting ability.

It is excrutiating to watch someone enduring such pain. She fought a good battle and I must  believe a warm and welcoming peace has embraced her.

Fondly remembering Fawcett.

Back when she was with Lee Majors, and insisting on a hypenate (Fawcett-Majors), a wag in Texas talked about a new course of study being offered at the University of Texas.  As a sub-set of archeology, students would look into ancient Egyptian plumbing.

They would be known as......

Pharaoh Faucet Majors.

Republicans think the glass is theirs.
Libertarians want to break the glass, because they think a conspiracy created it.

Like Merope did, I grew up watching Charlie's Angels.... along with Police Woman, Wonder Woman, The Bionic Woman.... grew up watching women who kicked a$$....

Jacyln Smith was always my favorite Angel..... wanted to look just like her, but I nearly ruined my hair as a pre-teen blowing out my curly curls, using a hot iron to straighten, then a curling iron to mimic Farrah's feathered tresses..... Thankfully, after months of ruining my hair, corkscrew curls became fashionable and I've never owned a blow dryer or curling iron since.

To be honest, I don't think Farrah Fawcett was a particularly gifted actress..... But she was an iconic figure.... and after she was diagnosed with cancer, she (based on what we read) handled it with dignity and didn't splatter herself all over the tabloids to keep the attention on herself. Good for her!

I remember Ryan's daughter, Tatum - made some pretty snarky remarks about Farrah.... which only made Tatum sound like the spoiled child-star has been, didn't really detract from Farrah...

I'm curious... my roommate says she heard Ryan and Farrah finally DID get married early this week, but I can't find anything in the news about this. Not that it matters whether they married or not.... obviously as long as they were together, what kept them together was their hearts and mind, not a piece of paper. Yet I kinda find myself hoping they did wind up tying the knot....

Tribalism, ethnocentricism, racism, nationalism, and FEAR is the Mind Killer... >:(

Well it has happened.  Michael Jackson has just died.  Guess your mama was right.

What Farrah went through was so sad from watching the special about it a month or so ago. May she rest in peace.
