THis is intereesting. I am a heterosexual male but I have always taken pride in the correctness of the GLBT community in the SGI-USA. Many of the folks in this group are friends of mine as well as members within my region. ONe of them just passed away yesterday from a long battle with HIV. He passed away in a most peaceful manner, a man of great inner strength, dignity and composure. There are simply not enough words of praise to express the greatness of Nichiren Buddhism and the effect it has on the lives of those who practice of any human persuasion. THe GLBT group of the SGI-USA in new York participate every year in the New York Gay Pride Parade. It is such a wholesome undertaking that many non-gay members volunteer to help them preparing constumes, floats and audio-visual work. As a student of sociology I have always marveled at the power of the object of wisdom in the Nichiren mandala to manifest the universal values, values which foster an almost uncanny unity among a vast diversity of human beings across the globe. This universally valid truth will naturally gravitate to the centeral consciousness of all humanity as time unfolds. It is a testament to the vast spiritual power of Buddha's wisdom.
