I know it's been dead here, but I'll take a shot at sparking a little life...

So I'm taking a Church History class this semester, and one of the requirements is a 12-15 page term paper on some aspect of Christianity from the Reformation to the present day. It has to be something I can find at least two journal articles about (in addition to other sources).

I'm asking everyone I know for what they would write about, hoping that it'll spark an idea for me (most of the ones I've come up with on my own are not really the kinds of things where you can do research to support a thesis and go on for at least 12 pages).

So I put it to you folks...if you were going to write such a paper, what would you choose to research?

I would say an interesting paper would be on the development of close communion.

I think a study of the history of the various Lutheran churches (denominations) in the U.S. would be interesting, though you would probably have to narrow it down to only the largest churches.

If I were to confess, I'd say that the justification for my guess was by faith alone. In fact, it's the article by which my post stands (or falls).

.... though I could have guessed wrong. Maybe she chose "Substitutional Atonement" (and paid someone to write her paper for her).  Smile
