Disgruntled (and possibly mentally unbalanced) homeless man who had been turned away from the parish food pantry because of his increasing beligerence and threatening behavior. According to the news story I read, the bishop thinks the rector and the church secretary weren't targeted specifically. They just happened to be there when the man returned with a gun. Sad.

I am reading conflicting reports that the rector has died, while another says she's on life support. Either way, very sad..this is one of those things that tests your faith.Cry

May the Rector rest in peace. And what a touching thing to memoralize the shooter.



I can't imagine the shock and trauma that church is going through. It makes all the things we complain about in own parishes seem so insignificant.
