When I have to make important decisions like buying a car or planning a big trip, I gather all the facts then make my decision on "emotion". Perhaps that is intuition. Seems to work. So far.

And then there are those, like me, who have postulated that intuition consists of a direct download from the cosmos;  but as you pointed out  "Speculations are fine but lovers of truth must remain agnostic on unverifiable explanations."
