Civil marriage and holy matrimony are two different things. No church, or clergy in a church, should be forced or bullied into blessing what is believed to be sinful. Your last statement is exactly why most people are against SS unions (I'm not putting the word "marriage" or letter M next to it anymore) in the first place, because it would lead to pressure to bless sin. |

I've read that there's a provision in the law exempting churches and clergy from performing SSM if this violates doctrine, discipline or conscience of the church or clergyperson.
