It's 4 for 0.  Time for Harold to exit the field and hit the showers.

In OT times he would be  stoned

That's the problem: he is stoned.  (Pssst, yo Harold --- dump the water from your bong and replace it with white wine --- mellower smoke).

Maybe these jackleg prophets will wise up, Some Of These Days.

Fortunately in this Dispensation, we're not allowed to kill bull$#!++ers for their bull$#!+. We simply have to ignore Camping and his ilk and go about the business that God has given us to do.

For those who have faith, no explanation is neccessary.
For those who have no faith, no explanation is possible.

St. Thomas Aquinas

If one turns his ear from hearing the Law, even his prayer is an abomination. Proverbs 28:9

Here's the latest on the Prophet of erronious prognostications.

www.religionnewsblog.com/26238/false-prophet-harold-camping-says-oct-21-is-definitely-doomsday

He would have been more on track if he said Oct. 21 is doomsday for Rick Perry's candidacy.  :=)

Enjoy.

Campings prediction may be wacky, but at least he "putting it out there".  The Church has been less forthright with about its failed prognostications:

Paul's prognostication: "For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words."  They all have since died!

Yes, and Jesus said that there are those who will live to see the coming of the Kingdom of God --- which according to Jewish iridentist expectations would be established here on earth, with Adonai dwelling in the holy of holies on Mt. Zion.  The Palestinian Jews of Jesus' time thought this would occur in the very near future.

The prevailing expectations were wrong; Jesus' prediction was wrong, and so was St. Paul's.   Of course, neither Jesus nor Paul claimed personal infallibility; this was claimed for them by hyper-pious later generations.

Moral: forget about the predictions.  Take up Mahjong instead.

Harold Camping?  I'm going to start calling him Bullwinkle, as in this cartoon sequence:

Bullwinkle:  Hey, Rocky!  Watch me pull a rabbit out of the hat!

Rocky:  But that trick never works!

Bullwinkle: Nothing up my sleeve...(inserts arm)...Presto!

(pulls Rocky out of the hat)

Bullwinkle: Well, I'm gettin' close....*

Rocky:  And now it's time for another special feature.

*So is Harold Camping.  That buffoon and RaptureReady.com are good for a laugh anymore.

The saddest part of this whole 'End of the World' nuttiness is that people are turning over all their money to Camping in the expectation that they will be raptured. Camping is one of the most successful con men in history!

"God is no captious sophister, eager to trip us up whenever we say amiss, but a courteous tutor, ready to amend what, in our weakness or our ignorance, we say ill, and to make the most of what we say aright."  from 'A Learned Discourse on Justification', a sermon by Richard Hooker (1554-1600).

Can H.Camping compare with the Purgatory - Indulgence system?   Uncountable zillions have been raised by the Vatican per this scam --- and the touch of pure finesse --- they invented and skillfully used the poison ring.

Ya jess gotta love the ingenuity.
