Yes, and Jesus said that there are those who will live to see the coming of the Kingdom of God --- which according to Jewish iridentist expectations would be established here on earth, with Adonai dwelling in the holy of holies on Mt. Zion.  The Palestinian Jews of Jesus' time thought this would occur in the very near future.

The prevailing expectations were wrong; Jesus' prediction was wrong, and so was St. Paul's.   Of course, neither Jesus nor Paul claimed personal infallibility; this was claimed for them by hyper-pious later generations.

Moral: forget about the predictions.  Take up Mahjong instead.

The saddest part of this whole 'End of the World' nuttiness is that people are turning over all their money to Camping in the expectation that they will be raptured. Camping is one of the most successful con men in history!
