Wait until there are "honor killings" in London.

The Brits will wake up!

There have been honour killings in London, as there have been in the US, and in Australia and Canada. And they are as often done by Hindus as they are by Muslims.

I would think Americans should be more concerned about racist organisations like Mecha and La Raza that seek to use illegal methods, and even force, to gain power and prestige, and to push their radical agenda of unlimited illegal immigration, than what a few Muslims in Europe are doing.

Yes, Europe took too many immigrants for too long, and are now paying the price with ghettos springing up in their midst, people with alien values attempting to force their oppressive lifestyles on the rest of the population. But Europeans have woken up to this, and governments have been forced to act on it.

Here in Australia, each wave of immigration has been met with alarm and concern, and even bigotry. When many Europeans, Greeks and Italians etc, came post World War 2, there was much disquiet, but they worked hard, assimilated, and are a vital and important part of the community, and their descendents are indistinguishable from any other Australian. These same Greeks and Italians were horrified when hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese immigrated here in the mid to late 1970s following the fall of Saigon. In time, they worked hard, assimilated (and contributed their own unique attributes to the culture), and became Australians.

Now, the Greeks, Italians and Vietnamese descendents are horrified by middle Eastern and African immigrants. The cycle continues. As long as immigration is kept at a level that allows the society to absorb the new immigrants, who will assimilate the dominant culture, and yet make their own contributions to that culture, then I can't see any possible reason for alarm.

The groups like MECHA and La Raza has been noted. I think a plebicite will be held in the American Southwest within 20 years.

Free speech in the open marketplace of ideas has suffered a sad blow.

Pat Buchanan has been dropped from MSNBC's list of regularly appearing guests because of his views, which the Left considers unpalatable.   Among the topics Mr. Buchanan has the courage to discuss openly is the effect of non-Western, Muslim based immigration upon European-American culture.  Another "politically incorrect" subject he's had the courage to raise is Israel's role in Middle East violence.

Is this correct-think acceptable in a  democracy or is this the ogre of political correctitude assailing free thought  and open discussion?  Would't this narrowing of acceptability prevent Thomas Paine appearing on the Rachel Maddow Show?

Frankly, I think the conservative narrowness of Fox is equally matched by the liberal narrowness of MSNBC.  Narrow, ideologic dogmatism is the eternal enemy of free thought and unfettered discussion.  A plague on both their houses.

People were probably looking for a reason to get rid of him just as GLADD was looking for a reason to get Roland Martin sacked. I don't agree with a ton of what Pat says, but without all voices, all it turns into is a back patting session...someone tell Susan Russell that.

Agreed. And it's unfortunate. But it necessitates watching or reading several different news sources to get the truth. It seems the far left is as dishonest as the far right.Frown

Right on the money, Dutch.

MSNBC and its polar-nemesis, Fox, are too invested in protecting and promoting their respective Political Religions of "Leftism" and "Rightism," and it's harmful to free speech.  If Ari Rabin-Havt or anyone else has a problem with Pat Buchanan, let them refute him on the air.  Instead, Rabin-Havt chooses to affix to Buchanan all the appropriate "evil labels" (racist, homophobic and anti-Semitic) and acts like the issues Buchanan brings up have been put to rest.

That's not free inquiry.

MSNBC and FOX are selling a service.  They help those with a particular ideological bent to develop and update their narrative based on current events.  They need "the others side" for them to "play dialogue".  It's all about $$$$$$.

Fox has Colmes and Juan Williams.  MSNBC has Joe CNN has Scarborough.   I assume that Pat Buchanan's services were not producing the results MSNBC needed.

I suspect that Reverend Al Sharpton's days as a host will soon end.   He has a limited appeal (even to the left) as a regular commentator.  He's best known for his witticism.  IMO a daily commentary show is not the place for him to exercise his talents.
