Hello dear Catholic Christian brothers and sisters,
I am looking for references to an episode during the reign of His Holiness Pope John Paul II, when a clergyman (not sure of his rank at the time, but it had to have been high up, perhaps Archbishop) was essentially demoted by the Pope by having his jurisdictional authority transferred to an area (of Africa?) in which there were hardly any Catholics. Does any of this ring a bell? I appreciate any help you can provide. Many thanks. |

Hi bkusha, Welcome to this forum. I don't recall the circumstance you describe. If no one here responds, perhaps someone in the Discussion forum (click here) may be able to help. If you have questions about Catholic teaching, I'll be glad to try to answer. SuZ
