Our church's youth group is led by some very evangelical Methodist Christians.  The saving grace of Christ is consistently taught.  Consequently, many young folks have made personal decisions to invite Christ into their lives.

It is not too uncommon that many of these youth were not baptized as infants, and upon receiving Christ, wish to be baptized.  Moreover, many request they be baptized by full immersion.  One such youth will be baptized by full immersion this Wednesday evening.

Our church has a fountain area between the sanctuary and adult education building we use for baptizing folks by full immersion.  We also have zero objection to using this means of baptism.

Thought?

Why on a Wednesday?  Why not on a Sunday, during or just after a service of worship?  It may involve moving people around, and some people may have some difficulty with mobility limitations, but it should be on a Sunday, in connection with a regular worship service, IMHO.

We've done them on Sundays in the past.  On Wednesday we offer suppers that we prepare and there are several Bible studies and other activities that take place on Wednesdays.  The person being baptized probably chose to do it on a Wednesday rather than a Sunday.
