This board has been terribly sleepy for a long time. Is this a sign of the passionlessness of the church? Have we nothing to be excited about? Do we have no convictions that demand we give voice to them? Why the silence? |

I don't think it's a sign of no passion. I have plenty of that! I feel like we just don't have a critical mass on this board, for some reason. There's a core group of us who post; I haven't lately because I don't want to be too pushy. Also, I simply don't have the knowledge of DoC issues that others do, so I hesitate to post about church matters. |

I think that's part of it Vanessa. Another part is that many of the issues which are going on in other denominations either don't apply to us (women's ordination, for one) are no longer current for us, since we've already come to a general agreement about them. In addition, we are so accepting of diversity that matters which others are wrestling with are not battles we choose to fight.

There are some of us on the DoC board on Facebook. If you really, truly want to know who I am on F-book, PM me, and I'll let you know.
That being said, I, personally, am glad that we are founding new churches, don't crucify other over 'the gays,' etc., and can gather around the Lord's Table, every Sunday.

It means that I consider my money to belong to God and I see myself as one of the hungry people who needs to get fed with God’s money. If I really have put all my trust in Jesus Christ as savior and Lord, then nothing I have is really my own anymore." |

Just enter the terms "Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)" on Facebook, and you'll have it. I was just surfing there.
