"When I was just a little young boy,
Papa said son, you'll never get far,
Tell you the reason, if you wanna know,
Cause child of mine, there isn't really far to go."

Dupree's Diamond Blues

Words by Robert Hunter
Music by Jerry Garcia
“So long as there is squalor in the world, those obsessed with social justice feel obliged not only to live in it themselves but also to spread it evenly.”

Dutch: I have come to realize that I am a sentimental "Lutheran", which means I really accept me at last. I never felt totally at home in Anglicanism, despite my sentiments for much of it. Pastor Terry takes me as I am. I reject creeds and Lutheran confessionalism, but it is my cradle church. I love the German and Scandinavian chorales. The culture is mine even if the beliefs are not. My Unitarian-Universalism meets my honest belief needs. Richard

Richard:
I rejoice with you that you've found the right DharmaPath for yourself.  Ancestrally, my family is German Lutheran; the food is good too.  (What's your take on pigs'  feet cooked in sauerkraut?).

BTW --- I share your love of Bach, and I'll throw-in Purcell too.  So much of modern music, especially church music, sounds trite and vulgar to me.

Sounds like there would be a lot of folks here into guys like Tielard or Paul Tilluch.

Bach fans - what do you like more The mass in B Minor or St. Mathew's Passion?
