Hi! I'm relatively new here, but have been church-shopping pretty intensely for the past week or two, and have a question...

Which denominations believe in predestination, and which do not?

Many thanks in advance for reading and/or answering!

Peace,
Dee in Wisconsin

Hi Dee!

Predestination is a Calvin thing; you will find this belief in churches that trace their lineage back to him.   Some of the denominations are:

United Reformed Church
Presbyterian
UCC
Congregationalists
Evangelicals
DoC
Baptists

A really cool comparison chart is found on the following link (you have to scroll way down ...)

http://www.religionfacts.com/christiani … eliefs.htm

scroll down to *free will* - the opposite of predestination

Peace

alot of missionary baptist believe in calvanism
just because God is omnisciencent  doesnt mean He controls our thoughts and choices
john 3:16 says JESUS DIED FOR THE SINS OF THE WORLD THAT NONE SHOULD PERISH
GOD WOULD NOT HAVE HAD A PLAN FOR ONLY CERTAIN ,AND THEN ,PUT JOHN 3:16 IN THE BOOK
BECAUSE OF jESUS' SACRIFICE THE WHOLE HUMAN RACE IS PREDESTINED TO HAVE A WAY TO HEAVEN   WILL WE TAKE IT OR NOT???    OUR CHOICE
