What is the difference between Anabaptism in general and Baptist churches in general?

Good question. I think the Anabaptists are a bit more conserative. They seem to be less active and not nearly as political as some of the Baptist churches here are.

They don't believe in infant baptism, they have a belief in nonviolence and are listed as conscientious objectors in times of war, and they take to heart the Biblical verse to be in the world but not of the world. My Mennonite inlaws do not vote or participate in politics, but I think that is their local church preference versus a doctrine they follow. The Anabaptists split from the Catholic Church long before Protestantism began.
