Hello again my friend.  So sorry to hear about your wife's knee.  My own wife had to have surgery for the same problem.  She recovered in time thank God, but it took time and effort.  I pray her pain be minimal and her recovery (and yours as well) be swift.  Peace.

Thank you, Pensive. We just returned from the surgeon's office. The surgery is set for November 20th, God willing. It is to be a two-hour affair. Evidently Lin did considerable damage to it. Your prayers are greatly appreciated.

Lin had her operation this morning. We left the hospital around 3 p.m. and arrived home shortly after 6 p.m. She is having some discomfort but not a lot (yet). They sent along a cryo-cuff which is a bladder that surrounded the knee. It has a hose which attached to a canister filled with ice-water. This has a pump and it pump ice water to the bladder surrounding her knee to reduce the swelling. She also wears these special stockings to prevent blood clots. Tomorrow we'll change the dressing and try and get her up and walking just a tiny bit on her crutches. Should prove an interesting night. She also has this large padded cuff that surrounded everything and gives her both protection and comfort. She can sleep with this. I'll keep you all updated as time goes on. We were blessed to have the very best surgeon Portland has to offer. It really was a miracle.

My cold/flu seems to be on the run. I'm still sick but not nearly as sick as I was just 24 hours ago. Thank you all for your prayers.

Kerygma,

So glad to hear that your wife is on the road to recovery, and that you probably will get the bums to pay for it.  Good for you, and good luck to her in recovery.

On a related note, I ask for your (and everyone else's) prayers for Resa Ellison, the choir director at St. Mary's Cathedral in Minneapolis (my old parish).  She is hospitalized and gravely ill with H1N1 and other complications.  Whatever happens, may the Lord have mercy upon her and all who love her.

It's looking like the road to recovery is going to be somewhat long. Yesterday Lin ran a fever but today is thankfully feeling better. She is still in considerable pain and very limited in what she can do. Fortunately I have time off to help care for her. Unfortunately, I'm not feeling very well myself. The last few days I've had a headache that will not go away and the cold virus that hit me last week is still present. I'd appreciate continued prayers for both of us.

We will definitely remember Resa in our poor prayers. May the Great Physician lay His hand of healing upon her and raise her up from her bed of sickness.

Pensive (above) sent me a PM for a prayer request. I will let him say more if he chooses. But may I ask on his behalf that you pray for him and his wife? They are facing a difficult medical issue right now and prayers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

You are unique.
Just like everybody else.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Please pray for my Mother.  She is in the last weeks/months of her life.

She is not in pain and she still has a functional mind (she can still move around a bit, too.)

I believe that God knows and sees everything; He is in control.

I believe that God draws His attention toward the concerns of His Children and Servants.

I know He will hear and answer prayers from the Faithful.

My family is now in the Hands of God.  There is no more to do for mother but to keep her comfortable and happy.

Please pray for her sound mind, her bodily comfort and her easy passing..God's will be done +

Thank you, thank you.

Yours in God's Service,  Issa..

Hello, Issa.

I'm so sorry I did not see this prayer request earlier. It's the trouble with this horrible B-Net forum. Ever since Beliefnet messed up the forums and tried to make them a social network, there has been a problem of Orthodox members leaving for other, better forums and for many of us being unable to find the Orthodox forum let alone post to it.

Could you tell us your mother's given (or baptismal) name so that we can pray for her by name? My wife and I will remember her and you in our poor prayers.
