Hi everybody,

Saturday is the Miraculous Medal Novena and can also be the Rosary discussion--Perhaps we can discuss mysteries, or any other comments on the Rosary.

Sunday is Novena to the Holy Spirit.

Monday is the Novena to St Joseph.

Tuesday is the Novena to St Anthony.

Wednesday will be for All Saints. (I will post the Litany. Please add any prayers to your favorite saint.)

Thursday will be the Novena to St Jude.

"Where 2 or 3 are gathered in my name....."

Love & Prayers,

ST Jude will be our Thursday Novena. His feastday is Oct 28.

I started the Noven on Oct 20 in the old forum, but any nine days is a novena.

Most holy Apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant, relative and friend of Jesus, the Church honors and invokes you universally, as the patron of difficult cases, of things almost despaired of, Pray for me, I am so helpless and alone.

I entreat you from the depths of my heart;
come to my aid with your powerful intercession,
for you have received from God
the privilege to assist with your visible help
those who almost despair of all hope.

Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolation and help of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly -
(make your request here)
- and that I may praise God with you and all the saints forever. I promise, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor granted me by God and to always honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to you.
Amen

PRAYER

May the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus be adored, and loved in all the tabernacles until the end of time. Amen.

May the most Sacred Heart of Jesus be praised and glorified now and forever. Amen

St. Jude pray for us and hear our prayers. Amen.

Blessed be the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Blessed be the Immaculate Heart of Mary
Blessed be St. Jude Thaddeus, in all the world and for all Eternity.
(say this prayer, followed by the Our Father and the Hail Mary)

CHAPLET OF SAINT JUDE
How to pray the Chaplet of Our Lady of Saint Jude

This Chaplet has a Cross, 1 set of 9 beads and a Medal of Saint Jude. Example: Cross + 9 + Medal.

On the cross, say the following prayer:

Saint Jude,
glorious Apostle,
faithful servant and friend of Jesus,
the name of the traitor has caused you
to be forgotten by many,
but the true Church invokes you universally
as the Patron of things despaired of;
pray for me,
that finally I may receive the consolations
and the succor of Heaven
in all my necessities,
tribulations and sufferings,

particularly... (State your intention here.)

and that I may bless God
with the Elect throughout Eternity.

Amen.

On each of the 9 beads, pray the following:

One Hail Mary and the following invocation:

Saint Jude,
Apostle martyr
and relative of Our Lord Jesus Christ,
Mary and of Joseph,
intercede for us.

At the end of the Chaplet, say the following prayers:

May the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus
be adored, and loved
in all the tabernacles until the end of time.

Amen.

May the most Sacred Heart of Jesus
be praised and glorified now and forever.

Amen

Saint Jude pray for us and hear our prayers.

Amen.

Blessed be the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Blessed be the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Blessed be Saint Jude Thaddaeus,
in all the world and for all Eternity.

Miraculous Medal Novena

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Come, O Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful, and kindle in them the fire of Your love. Send forth Your Spirit, and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth.
Let Us Pray

O God who did instruct the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant us in the same Spirit to be truly wise and ever to rejoice in His consolation, through Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen

O Mary, conceived without sin. Pray for us who have recourse to you. (3 times)

O Lord Jesus Christ, who have vouchsafed to glorify by numberless miracles the Blessed Virgin Mary, immaculate from the first moment of her conception, grant that all who devoutly implore her protection on earth, may eternally enjoy Your presence in heaven, who, with the Father and Holy Spirit, live and reign, God, for ever and ever. Amen.

O Lord Jesus Christ, who for the accomplishment of Your greatest works, has chosen the weak things of the world, that no flesh may glory in Your sight; and who for a better and more widely diffused belief in the Immaculate Conception of Your Mother, has wished that the Miraculous Medal be manifested to Saint Catherine Laboure grant, I beseech You, that filled with like humility, I may glorify this mystery by word and work. Amen.

Memorare

Remember, O most compassionate Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your assistance, or sought your intercession, was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of Virgins, my Mother. To you I come; before you I kneel sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your clemency hear and answer them. Amen.

Novena Prayer

O Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of Our Lord Jesus and my Mother, penetrated with the most lively confidence in your all-powerful and never-failing intercession, manifested so often through the Miraculous Medal. I, your loving and trustful child, implore you to obtain for me the graces and favors I ask during this Novena, if they be beneficial to my immortal soul, and the souls for whom I pray. (here privately form your prayer requests)

.........(You may wish to include our Prayer Requests with yours at this time.) - for all of us and our intentions, OLSS Daily Mass attendees & their intentions, all the intentions mentioned on line, those who have sent their private intentions to the SI Conference website, all who asked for our prayer, and all who have no one to pray for them.

You know, O Mary, how often my soul has been the sanctuary of your Son who hates iniquity. Obtain for me then a deep hatred of sin and that purity of heart which will attach me to God alone so that my every thought, word and deed may tend to His greater glory. Obtain for me also a spirit of prayer and self-denial that I may recover by penance what I have lost by sin and at length attain to that blessed abode where you are the Queen of angels and of all people. Amen.

An Act of Consecration to Our Lady
of the Miraculous Medal

O Virgin Mother of God, Mary Immaculate, I dedicate and consecrate myself to you under the title of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. May this Medal be for me a sure sign of your affection for me and a constant reminder of my duties toward you. Ever while wearing it, may I be blessed by your loving protection and preserved in the grace of your Son. O most powerful Virgin, Mother of my Savior, keep me close to you every moment of my life. Obtain for me, your child, the grace of a happy death; so that, in union with you, I may enjoy the bliss of heaven forever. Amen.

O Mary, conceived without sin. Pray for us who have recourse to you. (3 times)

Novena to the Holy Spirit

O Holy Spirit,
You are the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity!
You are the Spirit of truth,
love, and holiness,
proceeding from the Father and the Son,
and equal to Them in all things!
I adore You and love You with all my heart.
Teach me to know and to seek God,
by Whom and for Whom I was created.
Fill my heart with a holy fear
and a great love of Him.
Give me compunction and patience,
and do not let me fall into sin.

Increase faith, hope, and charity in me
and bring forth in me all the virtues
proper to my state of life.
Help me to grow in the four cardinal virtues,
Your seven gifts,
and Your twelve fruit.

Make me a faithful follower of Jesus,
an obedient child of the Church,
and a help to my neighbor.
Give me the grace to keep the commandments
and to receive the sacraments worthily.
Raise me to holiness in the state of life
to which You have called me,
and lead me through a happy death to everlasting life.
Through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Grant me also, O Holy Spirit,
Giver of all good gifts,
the special favor for which I ask...

(State your request here...)

if it be for Your honor
and glory and for my well-being.

Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.

Amen.

Novena to St Joseph

Oh Saint Joseph
whose protection is so great,
so strong,
so prompt before the Throne of God,
I place in you all my interests and desires.

Oh Saint Joseph,
assist me by your powerful intercession
and obtain for me from your Divine Son
all spiritual blessings
through Jesus Christ, Our Lord;
so that having engaged here
below your Heavenly power
I may offer my Thanksgiving
and Homage to the most loving of Fathers.

Oh Saint Joseph,
I never weary contemplating you
and Jesus asleep in your arms.
I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart.

Press Him in my name
And whisper my intention into his ear
as you kiss His fine Head for me,
and ask Him to return the kiss
when I draw my dying breath.

Saint Joseph,
Patron of departing souls,
pray for us.

St Joseph the worker,
pray for us.

Prayer to the Wonder Worker

After you died, St. Anthony, God chose to make your holiness known to the world and to draw people by working miracles in answer to prayers made in your name. Since then, people have asked God to continue to honor you by working wonders through your intercession. Those who have experienced the power of prayers offered in your name have told how God has answered them. God has healed the sick, restored peace of mind, relieved poverty and granted favors of all kinds.
Now in this time of need, I ask you, St. Anthony, to pray with me for the things I desire. I pray that God may again give me a sign of loving care and providence, and that through you, God may draw us all to the fullness of life and love in eternity. Amen.

Prayer to Find What Is Lost

St. Anthony, when you prayed, your stolen book of prayers was given back to you. Pray now for all of us who have lost things precious and dear. Pray for all who have lost faith, hope or the friendship of God. Pray for us who have lost friends or relatives by death. Pray for all who have lost peace of mind or spirit. Pray that we may be given new hope, new faith, new love. Pray that lost things, needful and helpful to us, may be returned to our keeping. Or, if we must continue in our loss, pray that we may be given Christ’s comfort and peace. Amen.

Prayer for Poor Children

St. Anthony, your love for the infant Jesus made him present to you to see and hold in your arms. Help us to see and love Jesus in all the poor and suffering of the world. Move us to clothe, feed and help Jesus, in all unwanted, abused and abandoned children and people. Lead us, for the sake of Jesus, who became a child like one of us, to reverence and protect all human life from its beginning to its end. Amen.
Prayer of Thanksgiving
St. Anthony, God has helped me abundantly through your prayer and has strengthened me in my need. I thank God and I thank you. Accept this prayer and my serious resolve which I now renew, to live always in the love of Jesus and of my neighbor. Continue to shield me by your protection and pray to God for the final grace of one day entering the kingdom of heaven to sing with you the everlasting mercies of God. Amen.

Litany of the Saints

This litany is the oldest litany continually in use. It was used if not by Pope Liberius certainly by Pope St. Gregory the Great in the "Litania Septiformis" at Rome and in the procession of St. Mamertus at Vienna. This litany forms one of our oldest liturgical offices in the West, and is the model for all others.

Lord, have mercy on us.
Christ, have mercy on us.
Lord, have mercy on us. Christ, hear us.
