The New Church model of reality, both the need for useful service in the physical world and of the joy in experiencing the actual actual inner vision of Heaven and the Christ, gives me hope for a rational understanding of religion.    The deep meaning of the bible and all sacred texts comes to life for me, as reason is applied in terms of the Spiritual Sense of the Word of God. The New Church needs to share its treasure of wisdom from the explanations and decoding of the Lord communication to His world.

In modern info speak; The memes of the 2x Coming need to go viral.

The New Church orientation toward seeing the inflowing Wisdom and Love, radiating from the Lord like a Sun in Heaven, make it different and unique.

After doing much religious exploration, here are some reasons that swedenborgian doctrine still makes the most sense to me:

- emanuel swedenborg's writings are incredibly consistent. the system of correspondences used to glean inernal meaning from the bible forms a beautifully interwoven tapestry that works together to give us a flowing and coherent doctrine of how to live a just and useful life

- because we the entire bible has a symbolic, internal meaning, my beliefs support scientific facts and discoveries as evidence of God's existence instead of religious contradiction. I see science and nature as examples of the perfection of divine order that are kept in motion by the love and wisdom of the Lord.

- because we see the heavenly salvation as chosen in free will by all humans, and the path to that salvation simply to love good and truth and act accordingly, the religion is extremely loving and accepting of all faiths. anyone can go to heaven if they love their neighbor as themselves and if they shun evil and falsity. i love how this teaching both humbles and inspires you.

- swedenborg's writings can serve as divinely-inspired doctrine, a source of moral philosophy, or maybe just an interesting piece of literature, but no matter what what you come out of after reading swedenborg, you will find it has incited internal reflection, religious discussion, spiritual questioning, and the pursuit of truth, which are all inherently beneficial practices in my belief.

- some of the correspondences themselves are beautiful and fascinating.

feel free to ask me about anything. i'm not sure how thorough my answers will be, but i'd love to discuss any aspect of it with you.

You all should enrich the Progressive Christian forum on Beliefnet as well as you sound like you have some good insights to share:

Let's make 2008 the year when BNet gets a lot of New Church communication going.

There should be much to say.

To All,
The New Church members need to spend more time on Catholic  and Protestant forums explaining the Divine Trinity in Jesus Christ, here is a good one http://www.christianforums.net. We must take the writings to the people, and not wait for the people to come to us. In Christian forums my user name is the same as here,"SpiritualSon"

You have three posts and your telling me to spend more time? The Divine Trnity is quadruple God, The Son of God Jesus who died on the cross, for our sins, The spirit in Genesis that helped in the creation and who convicts us of our sins, and the Holy Ghost that you have to receive to become saved. Ezekiel 26,27,&25 explaines what happens to the body to be born again and then receiving the Holy Ghost. I received it 30 days later, after receiving the new heart.
