I have been going to the Nazarene Church in our city since 2003.

Sept. 16, 2007 our Pastor of 11 years left us, and just at the time
of the new officers of election and the new church board. That
occured in May. We didn't find out until 30 day's prior that he was
leaving. The 16th was his last day. As NYI President last year
gave me the responsibility to the youth and also to the Church
Board. Not to mention my work in most areas of the church
last year. I was busy!

Well, my question is, without going into a long story,
There was allot of complications and set backs, as being NYI
President. We only had two active teens but we were trying
to get a youth group going. My team of th NYI board kind of
was working against me and not with me. Everything I wanted
to do had to be approved by the D.S. because of not having
a Pastor. After trying to plan several events which failed
during this process, it brought on allot of confusion and
frustration on everyone in volved to the point where
I turned in my resignation to the D.S. by email. I was
also pulled out of my teen Sunday School class during
this process because I was sick and missed two weeks.
I wasn't told about this until I call the S.S.S.I. the following
week. The next day I called her again, to which she told
me that she has pulled me out of my class. My NYI
and S.S. class was done with at this point.

The people that were on the board of NYI have turned
against me. Everytime that I go into church now no
one really wants to talk to me. I can tell that they get
tensed up, and then walk away. Some have spoken
to me, but the ones I worked with are still not wanting
to talk to me.

This last Sunday night I went early. One of the ladies
saw me sitting in the back of the church. Where I have
been sitting so I could avoid the stairs, and looks that
I have seen passed between certain members.
Well this lady, my age, saw me from the corner of
her eyes, she turns her head and waves. Then she
comes by again and saysing nothing, twice. Her family
comes in and sits behind me. She comes over and
starts chatting, but I knew she didn't really want to.

So I go home upset. Because that wasn't the
only person who acted like she did Sunday night.

So I write her an email. Asking her did I upset her,
I knew she didn't want to talk to me, and asked if we
can talk. Told her I didn't like how she acted towards me.
She hasn't  seen me in all most 3 month, because
I hadn't been going regulary. She wrote me back and said,
"I don't know what you are talking about. You must be
in one of your cycles again, and I didn't wanted to get
involved. When you are at church you make me feel like
I am walking on eggshells??? I confronted another
person to and she said that I was the one with the problem
and not her! I don't understand, when they were giving me
all the problems, how could I be doing this to them? I want
to talk about the issues that occured but it's obvious that
they are not interested. Should I keep going to this church or
stay to try to work things out. I am close to other members to.
I have been there longer then these people. I also don't want
to go to church and coming out feeling worse. Church
should be a relaxing time. What should I do?

I'm not sure what to make of your situation. Without hearing all sides it's hard to give you good advice. I'm sorry you don't feel good after service. It really is all about God, and He's good. You may want to talk privately with your pastor.

I don't come here too often. I post over on There are a lot of fine people over there. You may want to check it out.
