In Judges 13:18, Manoah was speaking with the Angel of the Lord:

"Then Manoah inquired of the angel of the LORD, "What is your name, so that we may honor you when your word comes true?"

The Angel of the Lord Answers:
And the angel of the LORD said to him, “Why do you ask my name, seeing it is wonderful?”

In Isaiah 9:6, the coming Lord Jesus is said to have the same name:
"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

Is the angel of the Lord then Jesus?

Did the Angel of the Lord create mankind?

Yes , the angel of the Lord was the pre-incarnate Jesus Christ .

It is interesting to note that the angel of the Lord is never mentioned after Christ's birth .

Agreed.

Unless I am convinced by Scripture and plain reason, my conscience is captive to the Word of God. I cannot and I will not retract anything, for to go against conscience would be neither right nor safe.  Here I stand.  I can do no other.  God help me.  Amen.

Answers to the Op»»NO. NO.
Angels are lesser spiritual beings  created by God to do his will .
Examples:
Michael - Gabriel - Lucifer
SeRAPHIM -many messengers.

I think this is also indicated by Joshua worshiping Him and that angel not asking Joshua to not do that.

Jesus was the greatest messenger of God.  Daniel 12 indicates Michael was a reference to Jesus.  Many of the angels mentioned in Revelation is referring to Jesus.

Rider, this is the best quote I seen all evening...

You are absolutely right.

Angels are not affected by anything in the physical world so ANY ANGEL sent by God could shield the three people in the fire. If it were necessary to make a claim as to a specific Angel then more would have been said about the incident as regards who it was. Perhaps mentioned in the New Testament or in the Prophecies, Isaiah, Psalms, etc.

It is impossible and pointless to try to guess who that person was.

It should just be left at "An Angel" - nothing more need be said.

The passage in question is from Daniel 3:24:

Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

This quote is attributed to Nebuchadnezzar.

Now we know that the ONLY BEGOTTEN SON of the Father is Jesus.

Accordingly the fourth man in the furnace was Jesus.

But Mlyons, it doesn't say the fourth is like the only begotten Son of God. And, how would Nebuchadnezzar know how the son of God looked?
