I am not sure. I'd question the possibility that the images were his (that he that he had downloaded/ saved them to his computer from the internet). But I might also think 'what if these are not.' I wouldn't know what to think. I might have some concern for my children. The trouble is, if someone had hacked into his computer and planted those images, that would mean bad reactions froom parents would be a serioue over reaction, and could result in families leaving a church over something (probably an idea or thought) that wasn't true. The trouble is, the Catholic church as a hole, has done a poor job in relation to its sex abuse scandle. Many people were hurt/ sexually abused by priests, and, instead of letting those priest go/ firing them, the reaction (largely in the past) was to sweep the situation under the rug and move the priest to another parish a good distance away from the previous one. All this likely did was leave more children abused by the priest. The truth is, it is possible, without the proper safeguards on one's computer, to mistakenly end up on a porn site. I remember an episode of a tv show (touched by an angel I believe), where a teenage girl was doing an asignment and looking something up on the internet and ended up at a porn site, completely by accident. But I do believe a lot of parents might jump to conclusions, probably largely because of the Catholic church's past history, and also because of the fact that they have children. JFG |

True, the church does have a history with sex abuse scandals. However, does *that particular priest*? That would be my concern...He's cooperating, which would lead me to believe that he's telling the truth. Why would someone do that, if they had something to hide? They wouldn't usually. I don't have kids, though, so I might be worried if any of them saw those images and, if so, make myself available to them to talk about it. I guess given what my husband and many of my friends do for a living (IT/tech support) and that I've worked in places with shared flash drives, I can see how something like this would happen. Meaning, I can see how something I've previously prepared could be messed up/erased/otherwise mixed up by something the next person who had access to the files did.
More where that came from...

My reaction would vary depending on whether he turned off the slideshow before he ran out of the room, I suppose. Nice alliteration, by the way.
"Truth did not come into the world naked, but it came in types and images. The world will not receive truth in any other way." Gospel of Philip, Logion 72
"Christ will regenerate all things; through Him all things will be purged, and return into eternal life. And when the Son shall deliver up the kingdom to the Father, all things will be God; that is, all things will still exist, but God will exist in them, and they will be full of Him." Fabius Manus Victorinus, c. 350 AD |
