[23.1] Successful indeed are the believers,

[23.2] Who are humble in their prayers,

[23.3] And who keep aloof from what is vain,

[23.4] And who are givers of poor-rate,

[23.5] And who guard their private parts,

[23.6] Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess (married to you), for they surely are not blameable,

[23.7] But whoever seeks to go beyond that, these are they that exceed the limits;

[16.90] Surely Allah enjoins the doing of justice and the doing of good (to others) and the giving to the kindred, and He forbids indecency and evil and rebellion; He admonishes you that you may be mindful.

[16.91] And fulfill the covenant of Allah when you have made a covenant, and do not break the oaths after making them fast, and you have indeed made Allah a surety for you; surely Allah I . knows what you do.

[2.136] Say: We believe in Allah and that which had been revealed to us, and that which was revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the tribes, and that which was given to Moses and Jesus, and that which was given to the prophets from their Lord, we do not make any distinction between any of them, and to Him do we submit.

In Islam, we are required to believe that previous revelations were from Allah.

[2.128] Our Lord! and make us both submissive to Thee and (raise) from our offspring a nation submitting to Thee, and show us our ways of devotion and turn to us (mercifully), surely Thou art the Oft-returning (to mercy), the Merciful.

This is a prayer from Abraham and his son Ishmael.

[2.129] Our Lord! and raise up in them a messenger from among them who shall recite to them Thy communications and teach them the Book and the wisdom, and purify them; surely Thou art the Mighty, the Wise.

A prayer for raising a messenger from Ishmael's future generations in Arabia.

[2.130] And who forsakes the religion of Abraham but he who makes himself a fool, and most certainly We chose him in this world, and in the hereafter he is most surely among the righteous.

[2.131] When his Lord said to him, Be a Muslim, he said: I submit myself to the Lord of the worlds.

"Be a Muslim" here does not mean be a follower of Muhammad but in its true sense "obey My Commands". All those who obey Allah's commands (submit to Allah) are Muslims in true sense.

[2.132] And the same did Abraham enjoin on his sons and (so did) Jacob. O my sons! surely Allah has chosen for you (this) faith, therefore die not unless you are Muslims.

The faith is simply "obeying Allah's Commands" by believing and trusting Allah fully with heart mind and soul and never having doubt in His Guidance for us (His creation).

[12.103] And most men will not believe though you desire it eagerly.

[12.104] And you do not ask them for a reward for this; it is nothing but a reminder for all mankind.

[53.29] Therefore turn aside from him who turns his back upon Our reminder and does not desire anything but this world's life.

[53.30] That is their goal of knowledge; surely your Lord knows best him who goes astray from His path and He knows best him who follows the right direction.

[53.31] And Allah's is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth, that He may reward those who do evil according to what they do, and (that) He may reward those who do good with goodness.

The Qur'an is not something completely new but a reminder of what has gone before and a guidance for anyone who wants to believe and do good.

[48.29] Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and those with him are firm of heart against the unbelievers, compassionate among themselves; you will see them bowing down, prostrating themselves, seeking grace from Allah and pleasure; their marks are in their faces because of the effect of prostration; that is their description in the Taurat and their description in the Injeel; like as seed-produce that puts forth its sprout, then strengthens it, so it becomes stout and stands firmly on its stem, delighting the sowers that He may enrage the unbelievers on account of them; Allah has promised those among them who believe and do good, forgiveness and a great reward.

[43.64] Surely Allah is my Lord and your Lord, therefore serve Him; this is the right path.

The above is the saying of Jesus to his people as stated in the Qur'an.

[4.3] And if you fear that you cannot act equitably towards orphans, then marry such women as seem good to you, two and three and four; but if you fear that you will not do justice (between them), then (marry) only one (free woman) or (marry) what your right hands possess; this is more proper, that you may not deviate from the right course.

[4.129] And you have it not in your power to do justice between wives, even though you may wish (it), but be not disinclined (from one) with total disinclination, so that you leave her as it were in suspense; and if you effect a reconciliation and guard (against evil), then surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

More than one wife was allowed only for the protection of orphans and widows due to the situation of the time. It is not an everlasting license for every man to marry more than one wife because the second verse makes clear that one does not have power to do justice between wives.

[4.93] And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his punishment is hell; he shall abide in it, and Allah will send His wrath on him and curse him and prepare for him a painful chastisement.

[43.36] And whoever turns himself away from the remembrance of the Beneficent God, We appoint for him a Shaitan, so he becomes his associate.
