Makes no difference to me. We were discussing the Dead Sea Scrolls and their significance over 50 years ago in Catholic college. One needs to know what one is reading and its significance.

Get over it, WG. Read about the scenario earlier today. We actually studied the Dead Sea Scrolls in translation many years ago--also what the significance of the discovery was and wasn't. Did you? Bet you didn't and haven't................................ Another addition to the cyber-world. |

Jane--as my mother would say--
"You're a stitch--but not in a good way." Do you realize that your posts on this thread come across as ANTI-intellectual? |

Only to you, WG. Told ya, I studied the scrolls in translation and their significance more than 50 years ago. Also bet you haven't. |

Sorry but you'd lose that bet. I've also studied the Nag Hammadi. It would be cool if those were posted online too......

Thanks, w'gal, this is cool indeed. As Jane says, "another addition to the cyber world", we live in weird times... information being stripped of much of its traditional containers. Even the completely unqualified have access to such pearls, these days. Mind boggling when thinking of the ivory tower tradition of universities and scholarship. As I can't read any of these, it doesn't benefit me personally; I am more thrilled about European texts that I can actually read (like the Codex Manesse they recently released to the public). But I certainly appreciate the spirit of putting things up there!
tl;dr
