What's the meaning of broken glass?

So two things next door this old lady burned incense and it not long afterward my Mom's vase was really heavy and not a windy day, so it was impossible for it to have just fell and my aunt suspects something fishy is going on next door?

AND then, a two weeks later not related to the other one my other neighbhor up the block was doing repairs on his apartment and broke a window by fell it really big peices

Are they essentially the same meaning?

If you google it, you will find many links with answers. One I found says that if you break colorless glass ,other than a mirror or bottle, it is a fortunate omen.

I have heard that it is an omen that dissappointment is coming into your life. 

It could be an omen that change is coming to your life.

It could also be an omen that something dangerous or horrorific is coming.

There is a myth I believe that I heard once that glass symbolizes the seperation between the physical and spiritual plains and that it might be some form of communication from the spiritual side.

Out of all of them I would most likely believe that it is the communication myth just because it is the least omenous of them.
