I think you're confusing "spiritual" and "Spiritualism." Anybody of any religion can be "spiritual," but Spiritualism is the belief that one can talk to the souls of the "dead" through the help of a medium or other means. It's "talking to ghosts." Sure, there's more to it than that, but that's the defining characteristic.
I consider myself a Spiritualist, but I have other beliefs as well. I do not believe Jesus was a messiah or a divine person; I believe he was a religious teacher who's views and words have been hopelessly distorted over the centuries by people (ie the established churches) with an agenda to push. Spiritualism does not teach "salvation" or a hell for non-believers. |
