One is God powered, the other is self empowered. Spirituality is about the reduction of self. There is no God crystal. |

By what authority does one claim that 'spirituality' has anything to do with belief in God, or gods? If spirituality is supposedly about the "reduction of self", then there are few things that actually achieve that more effectively than gazing at a night sky festooned with myriads of stars. What often passes for the "reduction of self" in organized religion is little more than conformity to tradition and and subservience to a wholly imagined deity. But second-hand living hardly amounts to spirituality. |

Any stone can be a "healing' stone, Aquella, as it is we humans who imbue such things with the supposed power to heal. But if you want to buy a nice stone or crystal, try 'Bob's Rock Shop' on line. |

Try the authority of a dictionary. No need to create a subset of the English language.

Well, my dictionary, the Oxford English Dictionary, gives me several definitions, some of them having nothing whatsoever to do with irrational or unjustified beliefs about a deity, or deities. 'Spirit' comes from the Latin word 'to breathe'. What we breathe is air, which is certainly matter, however thin. As a great scientist once said, 'Despite usage to the contrary, there is no necessary implication in the world spiritual that we are talking of anything other than matter, or anything outside of the realm of science'. |

I was talking about irrational beliefs, you know, like the kind you espouse. And where better to discuss beliefs than B'Net? |
