If I could plumb the depths of love
Infiltrate the unfathomable Ferret out infrangibles What would I find? If Cupid called my name Deigned His house explored What treasures What horror? Would misty, smoky mirrors Mystify my mind Waves of sweet imaginings Reality entwine? Or sweep of Time take precedence Developer of dust Passion disassembler Emperor of rust? Throughout this realm might there prevail Enticings soft but strong Like pull of mighty Jupiter With paralyzing prongs? Or rings of excitation, Fair Saturn fresh disrobed, Permeate the galaxy To naked, lonely clothe? And at the center, Love Himself, Might He, in truth, abide, Where mesmerizing merriment And earthly care collide? Could He pull all together With just a single Word, In everlasting laughter Undeterred Myrrhed? |
