Emotion is a trap that circles back upon itself,

it is a dog chasing it's tail

Logic, which normally could find it's way out of a paper bag blindfolded,

is lost in the folds

unable to keep up with all the twists and turns

infatuation generates.

Sometimes intellect is no match for emotion

it is a child in a maze hollering "help"

Intelect is a mouse in a maze

seeking learning twisting turning

lost among the choices before it;

emotion is wilder

wolverine snarling

wall denying

claw straight to the heart of the maze

to freedom

Yes, passion does seem to trump logic a good part of the time.

Great poems, both of you.
