sun sinks
in apricot bliss

dusk settles
a lilac mantle
across the day's
long, dour face

the wins and losses
fall gently into place-
neither mattering
more than the other
when its all
said and done

a mockingbird
scansorially serenades
the advent of evening
hidden in the leafy
bower of an ash tree

while I welcome
the peace to be found
in the graceful
arms of the night
wishing I had wings
with which to take flight

that is a beautiful line, sabs.

and this is a poem that reminds us to be contented and aware of the splendor that surrounds us while at the same time allowing for  the wanting of more....

this is true, Babsweet.  but, then, there is the other road,

the one that leads to perdition.  gigglegiggle

don't know why, but, I couldn't resist saying that.

towards my bed!  miss all you guys!

Beautiful poem, Nir!

the Magellanesque mantle you shoulder
smoulders
sometime crimson, sometimes dark
emitting sparks
sending flames through flaring pen
giving berth to ships that sail before a muse-i-cal wind
exploring further reaches
where fact and fiction blend
