Being Together

Let’s not let our bodies
get in the way of our being together.

I can’t get to you through your body.

We will never be one body,
but we can be of one mind.

Joining bodies does not make us one.

Complete strangers can join their bodies
and yet be miles apart.

Without their bodies they’d never recognize each other.

That is,
perhaps all they came to know in their time spent together,
a body,
that may be here today ,
and gone tomorrow.

I want to know you,
Love,
each time we meet throughout eternity,
with or without,
your body.

Shell

Sun glint on foamy waves,
toes sifting sand as I walk.

The ocean whispers romance
in my ear.

I hear the echo of my name
in a large,
hollow,
beautiful shell.

Since you beckon me
my lovely shell,
I claim you for my own.

I fill you with my dreams of love,
and then hold you to my ear
to hear the words I never hear.

On the empty beach of working days,
we glide dreamily
down the shore
my shell
and I.

A seagulls cry
calls  me back
to the moment.

I look up
and there you are,
a face
I have not imagined in my dreams.

Your voice greets me
like a beautiful song
new to my ears.

We speak of the lovely day,
and begin to walk together talking.

You are of your own  and different mind,
yet
there is a comforting recognition in me
like
finding a much sought puzzle piece.

Our differing perspectives
spark no quarrell,
they cause
excitement,
and wonder
as they pour from our lips....

I cast the shell full of dreams
into the sea.

For it could
never
never
compare with
thee.

TWO BEAUTIFUL ONES AMY!

Is all that we see or seem but a dream within a dream?
E.A. Poe

Never get use to anything, trust your intuition, delight in simple things, say "Yes" to life with passion, ,and fall madly in love with the world!  Ruth Bernhard

To Tell You The Truth
or
(Get To The Point)

Okay....
I’ll stop beating around the bush.
I’ll tell you the truth...
and get right to the point.

I won’t do a prelude to lead up to it...
we won’t play a guessing game about it.

I won’t stall in the middle of several different approaches...
deciding it is inappropriate and starting over.

Now...
what were we talking about?

Ghost

I am the ghost
of humanity’s past.

I bear the sword of human bloodshed.

I cry the tears of sorrow
it brought upon us.

I wear the ornaments of vanity
yet
I wear the simple cloak
of humility.

I bear within my breast
the lion-hearted
and
the meek and gentle soul.

My mouth opens and bellows forth
the cry of war,
and in the next instant,
the echo of
the laughter of peace.

Upon my shoulder is perched,
a dove
the symbol of purity and righteousness,
and I have walked
 the straight and narrow path.

I have also ridden
the fast road to ruin,
hunted buy the hounds of hell.

I am drawn to the light
yet
fascinated by the darkness.

Tomorrow,
what yesterday
will I show you.

The answer is found
in the deeds
of today.

Humanity writes my story,
shining the light,
or tarnished with bloodstains.
This chapter is yours.

hmm squirrel is one of the few things I haven't tried but I too have heard of people eating them.

and thanks for the compliment I'm kinda going out of order anymore after sarah had asked me to post some of my stuff from chapters nine and ten. there are a few more in there.

A Simple Kindness

If I can touch your heart ,
and bless it with my love,
let that be what is between us.

Do not look upon my life with wondering
why it is
as it is,
and why I have not lived as you.

I am not you,
but love is the same wherever it dwells.

Perhaps I could disect
your every word and action,
and could see in everything you do
a better way it could have been done.

You could do the same.

We would be at an impasse,
and far too busy comparing
to share
a simple kindness.

The Beautiful Ugliness

I am spirit bound to earthly life.

I am purity and perfection,
riddled with
humaness
and as such am beautiful.

I am beautiful as each glint of perfection
and
beautiful as every lovely flaw and weakness;

common to my kind
yet uniquely
my own.
