In a sour cesspool of their own making,



are the most pitiable souls


those full of anger and hate


those who tend to over-rate


all that ugly mess


I must confess


I cannot guess


why anyone


would choose love and kindness less!

less often than hatred and spitefulness

 throughout the ages.

step on toes


of the metaphorical kind


offends the heart


offends the mind


fills with rage, blind.


All combined,


intertwined


a devil designed,


thing inclined


to boggle your progress

In the dust, and in disgrace,


she rued her finish in last place.
