[FONT="Georgia"][COLOR="#458B74"]winding, circle, spiritual, glide, safe
Gliding along the winding path
in a circle of safety
releasing my grip on my cares
and opening up inside,
dilated at the center of my soul. . .
not a hole,
a vessel
a place of silence
a vacancy reserved for God
for spiritual communion,
an inner sanctuary
purified by the consuming fire
of the Holy Spirit
and what is left there. . .
etched in the center of my soul,
"I am with you, there is nothing to fear"

[FONT="Arial Black"][COLOR="#CD9B1D"]meditate, solitude, soul-mail, release, receptive
One foot in front of the other
I walk
and as I walk. . .
I release each worldly care
letting them lie where they fall behind me
not turning back like Lot's wife
going forward.
As all is left behind
I become more receptive
with room in my heart
and attention to spare.
I arrive at the center
and sit down to meditate
in my mind I am calling:
"come Holy Spirit"
and my answer comes by soul-mail
that light bulb in the head
illuminating the message
"You are not forsaken"
"Wherever you Go, God's Love goes with you"
I smile, whisper Amen
and rise from this quietude
not solitude
because even if there were not another body
in the room
And God. . .
both stays and leaves with me.

[FONT="Comic Sans MS"][COLOR="#8B3A3A"]labyrinth, aware, ahead, cloak, limb
Perhaps the labyrinth
is more than just a meditation tool
maybe it is a snapshot of our lives.
I'm not convinced we are ever moving either
forward or backward
but a winding path that sometimes
takes us inward seeking center
shedding the cloak and mask,
the facade that the world
in one way or another forces on us
shedding the cares and stresses
seeking quiet and rest and . . .inspiration;
and once we have found it
the path ahead takes us out to the world
to make good use of the inspiration we received
because only then do we make it our own,
becoming fully aware of all the subtle
meanings and nuances,
and yes sometimes
the inspiration
that this life delivers
requires us to go out on a limb
to take risks that we can only take
if we release some measure of comfort and security.
stand, crawl, fall, rise, sway

Hiya Amy! I you ever get a chance, check out "Gomorrah" by the Jerry Garcia Band! The last line is especially really cool... the first poem of this series made me think of it.
What Fatal Flowers of Darkness Bloom from Seeds of Light!
