Once again, interesting.  Israel's politics have been very conservative, and they have been acting against the Palestinians in ways that are bad faith.  The USA has always tried to bring peace.  But this still doesn't explain how this administration is to blame for the conflict.

The administration is at fault for not making the WB Arabs -- leadership and rank-and-file -- take responsibility for their actions and denounce their charter to destroy Israel (and we won't even talk about the Islamist Hamas which calls for Israel's destructive and genocide of Jews).

If Israel's politics have been conservative (which, btw, is no sin) it is because they have no peace partner. Many outsiders -- especially if you only get your news from the administration's spin and/or the ridiculously biased media -- don't realize it. They think both sides are to blame. But how can Israel make peace with groups fanatically devoted to their destruction? We learned from the Nazis that when they say they want to kill you... believe them.

The reality is that when the rare Arab leader has arisen who offered real peace Israel has jumped at it. I've always said: Give us a Sadat and we'll give you a begin. But the Arabs have given nothing but extremists and hardliners calling for the death of Israel:

Hamas Charter Alive And Well

The PLO Charter Still Calls for Israel’s Destruction

We had a thread on it once and the answer is: Other than Sadat, who lost his life for saying so, no.

Sadat was killed by Islamists. The motivation was conflict between the secular socialists and Islamists...a conflict which began with Nasser. Everything in the Middle East is not about Israel.

Jordan has also signed peace with Israel and renounced claims on the West Bank to enable a two state solution. And Turkey has always been an Israeli ally though the relationship has been poisoned of late.

And who murdered Rabin, anyway?

Some people wept when that happened.
