The answer is a very loud "NO!"

The evidence?  We have fellow citizens who are homeless, malnourished, with no basic health care.  We have a "justice" system that preys on the weak instead of helping, that manufactures crimnals instead of building up citizens.

The trump card?  Those who most loudly proclaim this to be a Christian nation have the least Christian attitudes, advocating government policies based on selfishness, intolerance, greed, and bigotry.

"As you have done to the least of these....", Jesus said.  If a nation is to be called Christian, it must be judged on how it has treated "the least of these".

"To argue with a man who has renounced the use and authority of reason, and whose philosophy consists in holding humanity in contempt, is like administering medicine to the dead, or endeavoring to convert an atheist by scripture."-- Thomas Paine: The Crisis No. V (March 21, 1778)
