I'm glad that KS isn't upset by the rebuilding of an historical synagogue. As for the beauty of the Dome of the Rock - I concur. It is an esthetically beautiful structure and does dominate the Mount.

it was not built to desecrate the Mount - but rather to lay a claim to a hallowed spot. Let's lower the pitch of the rhetoric here in the interest of peace. The fact is that Al Aksa, the mosque on the southern border of the Mount is the holiest spot for Muslims on the Mount. Actually, that mosque is not really on the Mount itself, but on the Herodian extension. And for accuracy's sake, the Dome of the Rock was never considered a mosque before 1927.

It's impossible to Judaize Jerusalem. This city has had a Jewish majority for 150 years. It's King David's capital and the direction of prayer for Jews all over the world.

When Palestinians and Muslims make absurd charges regarding the rebuilding of synagogues that were destroyed by the Jordanians, or deny the existence of the Temple or the history of the Jewish people here, they undercut their own moral legitimacy. The rants about Al Aksa being in danger are indicative of a severe pathology.

Religions and religious people do have to work together to make peace (or at least to contain conflict) and promote human decency and dignity.
