It is a very sad story. We have been watching the proceedings of the case for some time. It seems as if there were two factors involved that drove these parents to kill their own daughter; culture and lack of education on at least mother's part.oing bthings

Culture because the way father was known in the community. In such a culture, men always try to have higher status in the eyes of other men. When other men hear of his daughter that father can't control, his status in the community get a knock. This drives the man too interested in his status to hide the "insult" on his status by making bad mistakes in desperation. These people need to come out of a culture in which they need to keep their status up at any cost.

Education because these parents do not understand how much education liberates a person. Prompting of his wife was due to her lack of education. My wife is also from the same culture and did not want our two daughters to be educated beyond compulsory education. I stood my ground and both daughters went to universities and are now professional teachers. My wife accepted she was wrong the day she attended the first daughter's graduation ceremony.

The world people are in need of education more than anything else if we are to understand how to get rid of crime and abuse of individual's rights.

I know one thing: There are a billion Islamic people in the world today, and there will be about 2 billion by the time we're dead. They're not going to give up their religion.
