Oh, brother---anyone can see what is coming. Move over, Assad...you got company, as the US government militarizes and arms itself against its own citizens---and there is always a handy excuse, nu?
rt.com/usa/news/dhs-unrest-gear-283/ the excuse being some paranoid-driven thoughts of "civil unrest"... |

www.infowars.com/dhs-prepares-for-civil-... the drone article...source not that great, but I do believe it tells the truth, as it did provide sources that can be tracked.

not trying to be a jerk or a broken record but the GOP candidate and possible POTUS will not dial back drone warfare or surveillance. it is the THING of the future. I'm thinking that Drone manufactures have a very strong lobby.
and for further clarification I am not protecting Obama and blaming Bush. The entire political process is nothing more than a boondoggle and pay for play. Not only has it been going on for a long time but has achieved epic levels and will get worse with each succeeding presidency.

The Police "Eye in the Sky" is NOT a *New* Thing ... E.g., waaaay back when I was a Teenie-Bopper, State Highway Patrol somtimes used fixed-Wing light AirCraft patrolling over major Highways to detect Speeders ... I DON'T think that my local Police will be using remote-Pilot AirCraft to spy on me while I'm out on the BackYard Deck, and zoom in to see if I'm reading something *"Subversive"* ... |

One of my assignments in the army was with an aviation unit. A short distance from the field and on a location on the landing approach was a house where a young lady would sun bath al la natural on her back deck. Only the pilot had to pay attention so the ewo would take long camera and get some interesting photos. At that point on the approach the plane was so low that the lady often wave at the pilots.

SOME People LIKE to be seen in Public ... And lest we miss it, The SCOTUS has ruled in more than one Case that we do NOT have a "Reasonable Expectation of Privacy" when we are OUT in Public ... The Cops AREN'T allowed to put Cameras in your House without a Warrant, but when you're outside in the front Yard mowing your Lawn they are allowed to take as many Photos of you as they want ...

Sounds like a good idea to me. I also support camera surveillance in public places.

Other than the "unmanned" part, how is this different than what is happening currently? And why do you have a problem with the riot gear? Isn't that just prudent planning? |
