In order to redeem itself and win back those of us who have become alienated from them, the Democratic Party needs to start by kicking out the Blue Dogs. Where will they go? Who cares?

But I agree with Professor Roberto Unger, who taught the law to Mr Obama, that isn't going to happen unless Obama is defeated this fall. The Democrats in their current, Obama/DNC-led form don't have the hearts, spines, or brains to do such a thing.

And kicking the Blue Dogs down the road would just be a beginning. There's much, much more the Democrats need to do to clean house and become a people's party once more. Since Rahm Emanuel has gone off to Chicago, they might be able to do it.

Or maybe not. That's up to them.

Whatever. How many books have been written about your movement to the left? How many tv shows have covered that? How many media stars from the MSM have lamented the shift to the left? None. How many blasted the left kicking out Liberman? Maybe one or two, not nearly the amount that blasted the right for not choosing Castle or Dick Lugar.

As for labor, I still haven't seen any pieces that talk about how many jobs unionization costs the US; or the costs that Davis Bacon, etc costs us taxpayers; or how public sector unions are bankrupting cities and states or even the big differences between public and private unions. Nope, I honestly don't see it.

If you mean however, that the MSM doesn't give the Green Party the time of day, I would agree with you. Half of that is probably dislike, the other half is that the GP cannot win, now or ever, and the MSM doesn't cover no hopers like the GP, Libertarians, Constitution Party, or 15 flavors of socialist parties we have.

Democrats have used far fewer numbers ... like 3 ... to make the claim of "bipartisan".  I don't see why we can't apply such equally here ... especially when the "degree of bipartisanship" was much greater than any bill involving only Snow and Collins.

The sad part is not only that the Republican "base" supports sh*t like this, but they could actually detain Holder until there's a trial, there is a "cell" in the capitol exactly for that. Whether the extremist Republicans will go that far remains to be seen.

And to think conservatives get M.A.D. when they are criticized for their heartlessness!

I wonder how those 17 democrats are going to try to walk that back? My only hope is that they are not up for reelection in November. SHAME ON THEM!!!

What MSM can be faulted for not covering is how the Dems have been sucked to the right in the GOP slipstream.

I was speaking about Cat's suggestion of getting rid of the blue dogs. Of course the left pretty much has already done that and the media says nothing. The right has moved to the right, the left to the left. I can't imagine anyone saying the left has moved rightward and not be struck by lightning, so I hope you are near a hospital.

How old are you?  No, you needn't answer--it's a rhetorical question.  But as an 'old timer' I have to laugh when I listen to Conservatives denounce Obama's fumbling, middle-of-the road attempts at policy as "socialist."

There is no "Left" left in this country.  What we have is "far Right" and "not quite so far Right."
