The Ofer Military court also found him guilty of four counts of accessory to murder and four counts of attempted murder. Hamed, 47, was arrested in 2006. He was convicted of having direct involvement in a string of terror attacks in Jerusalem, including the 2001 attack in Zion Square, which left 10 dead; the 2002 attack in Café Moment, which claimed 11 lives; the 2003 suicide attacks on Café Hillel, which left seven dead and 57 wounded; and the 2003 shooting attack in Zerifin which left nine dead. Attorney Salah Mahmid, for the defendant said: "My client does not recognize this court's authority to try him because this is the occupation's court and according to international law it has no jurisdiction in this case." The prosecution is seeking a sentence of 56 consecutive life terms. The sentencing hearing has been set for next week. |

So what? It's only a question of time before he's released in some sort of exchange agreement. Alas, you can take the Jews out of exile, but you can't take the Exile out of the Jews. Which also goes to show you that impressions are very very important. |
