Wonderful rationale for turning a blind eye to an acessory to a crime. "The killer wudda done iot anyway," so we should not bother to prosecute the individual who provided that killer a gun KNOWING he would use it to kill.
This is hogwash. "KNOWING he would use it to kill?" Where do you come up with this stuff?
Where do I come up with this "hogwash?"
From the LAW.
Selling a gun to a known criminal makes you an accessory if he commits a crime with that gun you sold him.
If this applies to the typical citizen, should it not apply to high government officials too?
Oh, excuse me - that applies ONLY if they are Republican, eh?
Well the guns were sold to legal straw purchasers, not known criminals, in an effort to follow the trail to the criminals. Was it a bad idea? Probably. But the ATF is utterly hamstrung by ridiculously lax controls on gun purchases and sales in Arizona. It is their job to interdict illegal gun sales, and it is almost impossible to do so. Thank you NRA.
Read the Fortune article. It's tougher to absorb than Issa's cynical talking points, but at least it is the truth.
You know you're a partisan hack when even Fox News notices. This is great editorial. I hope a lot of Limbots out there read it by accident because it's from Fox, and then realize how embarrassed they should be.
