And yet more reasons why holy sites need to be in Israeli control

Palestinians stone worshipers on way to Joseph’s tomb

Nablus site opens briefly to Jews but clashes erupt as rocks and bullets fly

Palestinians attacked worshipers traveling to Joseph’s tomb on the outskirts of Nablus during a scheduled nighttime visit, Israel Radio reported on Thursday.

Over 1,200 people made the journey to the tomb in coordination with the IDF — a requirement since the West Bank town of Nablus is under Palestinian Authority control.

As the travelers passed close to the Balata refugee camp Palestinians began throwing rocks, and shots were also fired. IDF soldiers escorting the worshipers returned fire and used riot control methods to disperse the protesters.

An IDF soldier was lightly wounded when a rock hit him and several Palestinians were arrested during the incident.

Must've been those 'provocative' kippot the worshippers were wearing.  I guess they were fluourescent.

Since the PA is in charge of the area now and has been for some years - why is there a 'refugee camp' still in existance?  Why hasn't the PA built them new housing?

The Palestinian Authority has steadfastly refused to release "Palestinians" who live in areas controlled by the Palestinian Authority because they want those Palestinians to be re-settled within the final decided borders of Israel even if neither they nor their families ever lived in any area within those borders.  Also, as long as they stay in the camps, they are the responsibility of UNWRA so the Palestinian Authority can collect money for their support and not actually support them.  Neat trick, huh?

It is just part of the traditional mistreatement of Palestinians by their fellow Palestinians.
