Everywhere else is a suburb of New Jersey. We are what everyone wishes they could be.
Seriously, most of those of us who support Israel in these forums do not tell Israelis how they should view statements by the Arabs and the Arab apologists, but we do respect their opinions of those statements. Their are lots of us in NJ and elsewhere who support Israel and who have family and friends in Israel and who actually do have to worry about what the Arabs say and what they do because it is a matter of life and death for our friends and family. Even you should be able to understand that.
I do like Gov. Christie a helluva lot.
I'm glad you respect my opinions re "Arab statements". Maybe you're concerned for my friends and family, too. That's better than a hot stick in the eye, I guess.

If you knew Christie, like I know Christie, you would not like him so much. He is better on T.V. than in real life. (not such an uncommon occurence with politicians)

He's the only politician I like. I hate all the others.

In the international arena "friends" are "friends" for only so long as the friendship is beneficial.
This is no different, Rocket, from what RKen has stated as the American view. It may not be 'warm 'n' fuzzy' - but I think it's realistic.
Many think such behaviour is "realistic" for interpersonal "friendship" as well.
And why not, right?
Since I'm one of those you're quoting, Chari - it *appears* you may think I'm among those 'many'. I sincerely hope that that appearance is not reflective of your thinking.
No it isn't. But may I point out that it's not me who said friendship is irrelevant, in either context? I called it "trust", by the way, in the international arena. On the other thread. To re-label it as 'friendship' is just a political ploy to get rid of it. Those who don't want to act trustworthy on an international floor, or put trust in other nations, first have to decry it as a "warm'n'fuzzy" cry-baby something. Tough guys they are!
