Over 40 missiles fired at western Negev over Tuesday in dramatic escalation


Rocket and mortars rained on southern Israel Tuesday as tensions between Israel and Gaza escalated dramatically.


One rocket hit landed ina built-up area in the Hof Ashkelon region, setting a fire and injuring four people according to initial reports. One person is in serious condition and the other three were lightly injured by shrapnel.

Responsibility for the morning rocket fire was claimed by Izz ad-Din al-Qassam brigades, Hamas’s military wing,

Also Monday, a rocket fired from Gaza exploded in an open area near the city of Sderot. No injuries were reported.


On Monday morning, Said Fashapshe, 36 and a father-of-four, a resident of Haifa who had been employed by the Defense Ministry for years and working on the Israel-Egypt border fence for the past 18 months, was killed in a terrorist attack there. Terrorists fired on a convoy of construction workers.

Gaza rocket directly hits home in southern Israel; Iron Dome intercepts missile in Netivot for first time


IDF kills Islamic Jihad operative involved in terror attack along Egypt border; more than 30 rockets fired at Israel on Wednesday.

Since midnight on Tuesday, more than 20 Qassam rockets and mortar shells were fired from Gaza into Israel, 15 of them hitting Eshkol Regional Council. A Grad rocket landed near Be'er Sheva, and two of the rockets landed inside towns but caused no casualties, though light damage was caused to an industrial structure.


In response to the recent rocket fire, the Israel Air Force launched several attacks in the northern Gaza Strip. Overnight Tuesday the IAF attacked an additional six sites. According to the IDF spokesperson, all attacks were successful.

In addition, I'm not sure "conflict" is an accurate term.  It has the implication of a two-sided disagreement.  If you are walking down the street and a guy pulls a knife on you, would you say you are "in conflict" with the individual.  Hell, no!  You were targeted by the individual.  You were assaulted by that individual.  Similarily -- there is no "conflict" with Gaza.  Terrorists in Gaza have assaulted Israel (to the tune of 50!!!!! rockets in the past what, 24 hours?).

In the last 3 days, Hamas has launched 100 rockets into Israel, yet almost ALL the headlines on Google News right now highlight the Israeli response. Is it any wonder why so many people see Israel as the aggressor when in reality it was just attacked?

Gaza militants fire rockets into Israel, despite reports of attempted truce


Total of seven rockets exploded in western Negev overnight, no damages or casualties reported; Hamas announces willingness to halt recent military escalation.

Around 70 rockets and mortars were fired into Israel from Gaza since Wednesday morning. Around 120 were fired since the start of the week.
