No, he was not my favorite president at any point in time of his presidency. I was glad he was in charge for 9/11.
But from a conservative perspective, he was not an ideal. That said, it is impossible not to acknowledge his humanitarianism. I believe his heart was good. Always. Anyway, our first African American president should take some note of what to do. And continue to do after your presidency. Bringing Africa back to life: The legacy of George W. Bush In Africa, he’s a hero. “No American president has done more for Africa,” said Festus Mogae, who served as president of Botswana from 1998 to 2008. “It’s not only me saying that. All of my colleagues agree.”

Oh I read that. What a scandal that would be to defund them. More to my point is how GBush is being cast in his post presidency. All presidents could take a que here I think. It was one of the issues the FF's had regarding a limited presidency; that you would have former presidents roaming the country like ghosts (see Bill Clinton). I think obama would like to call Ghost Busters these days....

Well certainly. To a certain subset of Africans living in countries that were the direct beneficiaries of AIDS prevention programs that President Bush showed a personal interest in...the public health programs are really the only thing they know about George W. Bush, so of course to them he is a hero, and rightly so. Now ask yourself why American conservatives don't want to touch George W. Bush with a ten foot pole? The very real fear of this was the main reason I did not support Hillary. |

*******
"Wesley told the early Methodists to gain all they could and save all they could so that they could give all they could. It means that I consider my money to belong to God and I see myself as one of the hungry people who needs to get fed with God’s money. If I really have put all my trust in Jesus Christ as savior and Lord, then nothing I have is really my own anymore." |
